Eesah

Eesah is a Kingston-based Jamaican reggae / dancehall artist. His name comes from the patois phrase “dat bad eesah” — praise for a killer riddim; he formerly performed as Jahkime. His music blends roots and modern dancehall with lyrics about life, spirit, and responsibility.

Standouts include “Hold A Vibe” (with Little Lion Sound), “The Beginning of Time” (with Capleton and Lutan Fyah), “Police & Badboy” (with Kabaka Pyramid), plus “Marijuana,” “Tell No Lie,” and “Nubian Queen.” He’s also known for the Chronixx feature “Perfect Tree” on the Roots and Chalice mixtape.

Active since the early 2010s: EP Kannabis (2012), Believe In Love (2014), Lords of the Land; “Will Power” was praised by BBC’s David Rodigan. Collabs include Derrick Sound, Million Stylez, Randy Valentine, and more.
